Coach Sarah Grace Walton
Coach Sarah Grace Walton is a critical member of our team! Sarah Grace has been part of the Heart of Texas family since 2015, when she joined the swim team at the age of eleven. For two years, she was a summer-only swimmer, then swam year-round for two years. In the fall of 2019, she became an assistant coach at the age of fifteen. She continued to train with the team at times until transitioning solely to coaching her senior year of high school. From her first summer on the team, Sarah Grace was assisting with or teaching SwimAmerica lessons. As she has grown and the team’s needs have changed, she has taken on new roles and responsibilities. Currently, she is serving Heart of Texas as the head coach of our novice group, the SafeSport Coordinator for the club, and the site supervisor for the SwimAmerica lessons program. She loves seeing the growth in skill and confidence that her young swimmers experience and has developed a TAGS qualifier. Her organizational and leadership skills help keep our SwimAmerica program running strong each summer.
Coach Sarah Grace is working towards a bachelor’s degree from Whitefield College in Christian Secondary Education with an emphasis in science and a minor in philosophy (set to graduate Spring of 2026!). She has also been involved with her church’s children’s Sunday school program for several years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her large extended family (six older siblings and a growing number of nieces and nephews ensure that it’s always a party!), playing the piano, reading, crafting, and pretty much anything that will take her outside.
